    An Advertising Coordinator manages and coordinates the advertising sales of Arkansas Living; also oversees other business functions of the magazine, including billing for advertising and circulation, and preparation of circulation audits for postage and advertising.


    • Oversees advertising sales; provides media kit information and answers inquiries from potential advertisers. Negotiates contracts with advertisers based on rate card.
    • Pursues new accounts for direct ad sales, researching potential clients and preparing requests for proposals for potential advertising clients. Attends conferences, trade shows representing Arkansas Living as part of the sales process.
    • Manages contracts and relationships with current and long-term advertisers, providing exemplary customer service to retain them as clients.
    • Works directly with American Mainstream Publications (AMP), the national advertising co-op, on national and regional advertising sales. Serves as Arkansas Living sales representative/liaison with AMP.
    • Prepares billing for advertisers and co-ops for circulation revenue and works with accounting for collection of overdue advertising accounts. Prepares monthly spreadsheet with advertiser information for design and billing.
    • Conducts annual advertising analysis to determine market rates and assist with preparation of the magazine's media kit for advertisers. Develops an annual ad strategy for print and digital assets.
    • Works directly with graphic designer to create print and digital ads for clients. Pre-flights ads for printing, checking for technical aspects, including size, bleed and resolution.
    • Works with the MerlinOne digital asset database for the magazine and electric co-ops, helping manage content there. Regularly evaluates other databases, processes to improve ad sales and other business functions.
    • Prepares circulation and postal audit reports, working directly with the member electric co-ops who own Arkansas Living. Assists production manager with printing, mailing issues/processes.
    • Assists editor and other staff in proofing the magazine throughout production, with special attention to the ads.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Associate’s degree in advertising/marketing, business management or related field, plus 7 years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
