    An Engineering Intern will assist the Power Delivery department in developing engineering solutions to both recurring and emergent high voltage transmission issues. We’re looking for someone who can maintain a high degree of situational awareness to meet continually changing conditions with a fresh and adaptable approach. In this position, you will be given the opportunity to work alongside peers who are versatile, enthusiastic, and strive to push forward AECC’s mission.

     

    Throughout the summer, the Engineering Intern will obtain knowledge and experience with:

    • Power delivery operations from transmission to distribution
    • Maintenance/testing equipment, tools, software and procedures
    • Relational database, enterprise asset management system (EAMS)
    • Project management
    • NERC compliance standards/requirements

    Responsibilities

    • Update and interpret department records and drafts/drawings using EAMS and ‘file-share’ databases.
    • Analyze and document Power Delivery operations via process mapping
    • Help document the status and progress of ongoing projects at various substations
    • Assist with procurement activities and developing ‘scope of work’ statements
    • Assist with developing and implementing hands-on maintenance and testing procedures
    • Micro-processing relaying, digital controls, metering, communications, batteries, circuit breakers, and power transformers.

     

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Technologically adept and advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (emphasis on Excel and Word).
    • Exceptional analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem solving skills.
    • Extremely detailed and accuracy oriented.
    • Self-starter and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Valid state driver’s license
    • Seeking degree with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics focus.
